First-Year Students Achieve Semi-Final Success in International Competition Held in Germany
Two projects titled Circunature and r-Electronic, prepared by students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Hitit University, achieved significant success in the Innovation Challenge 2026 – Sustainable Chemistry & Electronics competition organized in Germany by the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre.
In the competition, which featured nearly 100 teams from more than 25 countries, both projects advanced to the semi-finals. Although they did not secure a spot among the 8 finalists determined for the final stage of the competition, reaching the semi-final stage was evaluated as a notable achievement for our department.
The Circunature project was prepared by Kerem Nuri Nacar, Dilan Taşdemir, Ahmet Ferit Ayas, Elif Aslı Onat, Bartu Binay, and Uhra İrem Özçekici. The project aims to contribute to cleaner and more sustainable semiconductor manufacturing through a dopant-free hybrid transistor architecture designed to reduce toxic chemical doping processes.
The r-Electronic project was prepared by Ceren Arıkanoğlu, Hamza Uysal, Erencan Önal, and Ebru Yaman. The project focuses on the development of biodegradable green electronics, single-use sensors, and passive NFC/RFID-supported sustainable IoT applications using plant-based organic molecules.
The academic supervision of the projects was conducted by Assist. Prof. Dr. Enes Efe from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Hitit University, while the technical supervision was carried out by Res. Assist. Dr. Samet Kaplan from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Hitit University.
As the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, we congratulate our students and their advisors and wish them continued success.
